The mobility transition is increasingly characterized by the seamless interaction of vehicles, infrastructure and digital services. This is precisely where our Cross-sectional (X.Sectional) Solutions come into play. They combine safety-critical systems with digital technologies and innovative service strategies to create a single, integrated ecosystem for tomorrow’s rail mobility.
By taking a holistic approach, we have broadened our perspective to include not just individual products and technologies, but also how they interact across system boundaries over their entire lifecycle. As a result, we create solutions that enhance overall efficiency and availability while simultaneously unlocking new opportunities based on data, connectivity and smart technologies.
In the central exhibition area at InnoTrans 2026, we will showcase the capabilities of RailServices, our digital solutions, and embedded electronics.

Digital Solutions – turning raw data into valid decisions
Our Digital Solutions unit combines comprehensive systems expertise with IoT, artificial intelligence and cloud computing. By leveraging this breadth and depth, we are able to create retrofittable applications that collect and analyze data from vehicles and infrastructure and translate it into specific recommendations for action.
Railnovais our modular, digital ecosystem for transforming raw telemetry data into operational decisions. And our exhibit illustrates other examples of digital applications such as our FreightControl Sentinel systemfor the intelligent monitoring of safety-critical freight train components. We also highlight the sophisticated features of the steadily evolving European Rail Data Space: In compliance with all relevant EU regulations, it preserves full data sovereignty while providing a secure, standardized framework for sharing data across system, manufacturer and national boundaries.
RailServices – our independent full-service provider
Rail vehicles can last for decades, but the demands made of them never stop changing. RailServices, our manufacturer-independent full-service provider, combines the expertise of a global technology corporation with flexible, scalable services covering the entire rail vehicle lifecycle. Two of the exhibits at this year’s booth highlight the strengths of our RailServices portfolio:
- Modernization services include product upgrades, connectivity enhancements and complete modernization programs that extend the useful lives of existing vehicles while boosting their performance.
- Component Maintenance covers the professional maintenance and overhaul of individual rail vehicle components.
- The portfolio also includes RailEye® Front Collision Warning from EYYES, an AI-driven assistance system that detects obstacles and people on or near the track, alerts the train driver, and can even trigger automatic braking if required.

Embedded Electronic Solutions – technology that interconnects train and track
Modern rail vehicles rely on tried and trusted mechanical and pneumatic technologies. But only intelligent electronics make it possible to precisely control vehicle functions, interconnect multiple systems, and reliably share information.
Our Embedded Electronic Solutions business unit merges the combined expertise of two Group brands: duagon and Selectron. We have set up a Deep Dive into their combined portfolio in Hall 27, Booth 740. Solutions range from high-performance computing platforms and control systems to secure communication and networking technologies. We use these solutions to help manufacturers, operators and systems integrators to develop modular, future-proof vehicle architectures – for new and existing vehicles, but also for a wide variety of related applications across the rail ecosystem as a whole.
X.Sectional Solutions cross conventional system boundaries
With our X.Sectional Solutions, we combine data, electronics and lifecycle expertise to form a single, integrated high-performance system. To do so, we consider not just individual technologies, but also the complex interactions between vehicles, infrastructure, operations and maintenance.
By providing open, scalable solutions, we help our customers to further develop existing fleets and infrastructure, devise predictive maintenance processes, and gradually incorporate digital applications into their existing system setups.
The benefits are clear: higher availability, longer vehicle lifecycles, and better-informed decisions – key prerequisites for rail operations that are safe, economical and sustainable over the long term.
Come and visit us in Berlin on September 22–25, 2026, and discuss your specific vehicle, fleet and infrastructural needs and requirements with our experts.
