The importance of an optimal friction pairing for braking systems is well known. An application-specific friction material combination of brake pads and brake discs are available today for every type of train. The Sustainable Friction Pairing exhibit shows the importance of different material types of brake discs and pads for the ecological footprint. With a tangible brake disc, consisting of three different materials in combination with the optimum pad, the effect on sustainability and aspect of reducing particulate matter in brake pads are highlighted as well as possibilities for an emission-free and sustainable friction pairing.

The inverter-controlled systems from AirSupply Smart represent a paradigm shift in air supply - towards demand-driven compressed air supply with permanent condition monitoring. This enables operators to achieve a fundamentally new environmentally friendly energy and noise emission management of their air supply systems. At InnoTrans, we will be showcasing this innovative overall system in combination with the new screw compressor (ScrewSupply Eco) series. This series - available in Smart and Stand-Alone versions - can be optimally adapted to the vehicle requirements thanks to its flexibility, in order to exploit its advantages (reduced weight, smaller installation space, integrated thermal management, less consumption & easier maintenance).

Our company brand Merak's interactive custom[air] exhibit combines multiple technologies to form an integrated solution for sustainable health & comfort – all round. Therefore, it contributes to two of our solution areas: “Ecological Footprint” and “Traveling Comfort”. For the prior, with its innovative green[air] suite, Merak combines environmentally friendly refrigerants, like propane (R290) with a GWP of just 0.02 and CO2 with a GWP of 1, with high-energy-efficient technologies for minimized environmental impact.
