Local Activities in Poland.
Knorr-Bremse has been actively involved in life of local communities for many years and is actively engaged in many initiatives and charity campaigns, both locally and globally.
As part of corporate social responsibility, Knorr-Bremse has been also involved in projects supporting the natural environment and the inviolability of the ecological balance. Helping people most in need and having a positive impact on the natural environment are the goals that make for company's participation in short- and long-term charitable projects.
The company's social engagement is based on two pillars: Local Care and Global Care. Local Care involves all activities carried out by local Knorr-Bremse branches that include help, support and development of local communities, while the Global Care Foundation supports big and long-term projects around the world.

Local Care as local involvement
Involvement in life of the local communities and support for people in need is an important element of the organizational culture of Knorr-Bremse. As part of the Local Care program, the company actively supports local charities and foundations, making donations for selected purposes and support people most in need.
The company also encourages its employees to actively and personally participate in social initiatives, such as collecting food as part of Szlachetna Paczka and participation in the charitable Bussines Run.
Global Care as sustainable development and supporting people in need around the world
Knorr-Bremse Global Care Foundation is an independent non-profit organization that supports projects around the world. The two main areas in which the company is involved are providing access children around the world with the basic education and the WASH program, which means delivering water and ensuring appropriate hygiene and sanitation conditions for people in need. Thanks to these activities, the company contributes to the improvement of local communities’ living conditions and implements its goals in the field of sustainable development (SDG).
Global Care Foundation also provides with emergency service to people living in places ruined after natural disasters and armed conflicts.
As part of Global Care project in Poland, the children's ward in one of Cracow's hospitals was renovated. In addition, hospital received modern medical equipment, including the specialized apparatus, thanks to which it was possible to extend the diagnosis and detection of many children’s diseases.
Knorr-Bremse Global Care - Supporting People Around the World
Knorr-Bremse Global Care is an independent, non-profit organization that supports people in need in the vicinity of the Company's sites and around the world. The two main priorities of Global Care's funding activities are WASH (water, sanitation and hygiene) and education. Through these priorities, Knorr-Bremse Global Care is also contributing towards the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), especially SDG 4 Quality Education and SDG 6 Clean Water and Sanitation. In addition, Global Care provides emergency aid to locations hit by major disasters, regardless of whether or not they are in the countries of its priority projects.
