Knorr-Bremse rail presents latest innovations to Supervisory and Executive Boards
Truly inspiring TechDay: On January 29, as part of the Supervisory Board’s strategy meeting, Dr. Nicolas Lange – Executive Board member responsible for the Rail division – offered his colleagues on the Executive and Supervisory Boards an opportunity to explore the full range of the division’s skills and innovative expertise in braking systems and other areas. Afterwards, he commented that “TechDay Brakes was an impressive demonstration of our expertise in innovative technologies. Based on our clear vision and well-defined positioning, we’ll continue to follow through and successfully complete our transformation into a provider of solutions for the entire rail ecosystem.”
TechDay Brakes delivered a colorful mix of presentations, live demonstrations and exhibits. The event covered a wide variety of data-driven solutions and use cases for the Rail portfolio, including the Evolution of Braking, Future Rail Freight Transportation, Sustainable Friction Pairing, AirSupply technologies and Data2Action concepts. And the division’s Future Lab lifted the lid on projects targeting tomorrow’s mobility, including conceptual studies of zero-emission braking and n.X – new generation brake technology.
The division’s new tagline was also unveiled at the event: “The Mobility Visioneers”. The new slogan emphasizes the sheer breadth of rail ecosystem solutions now offered by the division, while at the same time highlighting the underlying vision.
In conclusion, Dr. Reinhard Ploss, Chair of the Supervisory Board, summed up the experience as follows: “At TechDay Brakes, the Supervisory Board was given a comprehensive insight into the Rail division’s systems expertise and innovative excellence. Existing solutions and solutions for the future were presented in interesting and varied ways, triggering important – and lively – discussions. We’re on track to successfully implement all the ideas and activities set out in our strategy and vision: ‘next stop FUTURE’.”
