Knorr-Bremse Global and Local Care – Asia Pacific
Knorr-Bremse Global Care is a company-financed organisation that supports aid projects and sees itself as a professional partner for funding development projects around the world. It relies on close cooperation with international and local partner organisations, which are responsible for on-site project management, for ensuring that project implementation focuses on results, and for documenting the projects.
A key objective of Knorr-Bremse Global Care is to promote the independence and individual responsibility of people in need and to fund projects and programs that have a clear focus on results.

Partnership with the GO Foundation – An Australian Global Care Project
Knorr-Bremse Australia has newly implemented a scholarship program in collaboration with the GO Foundation. This program provides indigenous youth with financial support to get through their last two years of high school, with the aim of transitioning to tertiary education.
This opportunity is offered to 15 students per year, with the GO Foundation selecting the students based on:
- Economic need
- Aspirations for a better future
- Demonstrated willingness to work hard
- Desire to give back to the community – to pay forward and lend a hand to subsequent students
- A desire to understand and stand proud of their cultural heritage
Our scholarship program is just the beginning. There are many opportunities that Knorr-Bremse and it’s employees can offer students, including internships / work experience, mentoring, career guidance, tertiary scholarships and even support in hosting a student event.
Knorr-Bremse is passionate and eager to continue this program and to offer further opportunities as our partnership grows with GO. We are proud to be part of the GO ecosystem and we are also looking to learn and grow in our understanding of indigenous culture.
Knorr-Bremse, Welshpool WA
We work with the Wirrpanda Foundation to provide training and work experience to indigenous female students. In 2019, two students of indigenous background completed work experience at our Welshpool site.
Both students thoroughly enjoyed their experience and were offered a summer job cleaning and assembling valves. As a result, the students are now considering completing an apprenticeship in the field!
